The Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City Young Professionals is an auxiliary to the Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City. There are over ninety (90) Young Professional chapters nationwide in over 100 Urban League affiliates across the United States. The Oklahoma City chapter is one of twenty chapters in the Southern Region. Visit the Oklahoma City Young Professionals at any scheduled event, join, and become a member. If you live anywhere within the Southern Region, visit a local chapter near your home, join, and become a member of a national movement meant to Engage and Empower our nations young professionals.
The Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City Young Professionals is a volunteer auxiliary of the Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City which seeks young professionals ages 18 to 40 to empower their communities and change lives through the Urban League Movement.The mission of the Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City Young Professionals is to support our Urban League affiliate through volunteerism, philanthropy and membership development with Education as the tool of choice. We hold fast to a five-point Empowerment Agenda:
- Education and Youth Empowerment ensures the education of all children by providing access to early childhood literacy, after-care programs and college scholarships.
- Economic Empowerment invests in the financial literacy and employability of adults through job training, home ownership and entrepreneurship.
- Health and Quality of Life Empowerment promotes community wellness through a focus on prevention, including fitness, healthy eating and access to affordable health-care.
- Civic Engagement and Leadership Empowerment encourages all people to take an active role to improve quality of life through participation in community service projects and public policy initiatives.
